Teen Driver Safety Training
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Unlike classroom-based or online programs, Autobahn’s training includes four hours of behind-the-wheel drills, giving teen drivers the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom and practice the skills in a safe, controlled environment. Our instructors are professional race car drivers with years of training and experience. And the cars are our fleet of BMW’s, the official vehicle of Autobahn’s Defensive Driving Program.
In the classroom, your teen will learn the concepts of driving safety:
- How cars react under emergency environments
- The basics of car control
- Common mistakes of other drivers on the road
- How to avoid accidents in the first place
Throughout the rest of the day, your teen driver will be placed in common emergency situations in a controlled, safe environment designed to replicate common emergency scenarios.
These drills will cover:
Braking in low traction conditions (rain, snow, etc.)
Emergency lane change techniques
Safety Related Maintenance
Skid control recovery
Your teens will leave Autobahn with necessary driving skills and confidence needed to negotiate the streets of Chicago
Autobahn Drives Results
Teen drivers who have not completed driver’s education are 75 percent more likely to get a traffic ticket, 24 percent more likely to be involved in a fatal or injury accident.
Put simply, our training saves lives not only during their most vulnerable years behind the wheel, but through their lifetime.
